yes, there is a hope...

This is a very cherished post for the blog because till now I have been writing mostly standalone book reviews. In this blog, I’ll be sharing my love for long standing and continuous feature from 3 decades ie  Reader's Digest . I used to read this monthly magazine when in my teens as it was a regular sighting in school Library but let me confess that it was an elitist concept to have RD as part of your school library and if someone caught you reading then the teasing was unavoidable.  If you take any magazine, it is divided into several columns and features, of which different readers have different liking and dislikings (or less liking) which they skip altogether. So for me, there are a few sections of Reader's Digest which I like the most, the first is "Laughter, the Best Medicine" in which the jokes as provided by the readers across globe are shared, then there is Word Power to know about different word related to the particular theme like it may be any geographica...

  Happy Teenage...                The journey from an infant to a kid, from a kid to a teenager and from teenager to a man cannot be distinguished from each preceding stage as one cannot fathom where one ends and what is the point from where the subsequent commences.  There is no specific age group which   can clearly demarcate these key phases as everyone has its own journey and trajectory of development. The initial ups and downs of life may mature someone a bit early and someone may grow wings late in the life under protected parentage. However this is a circle which mostly humans complete in one's lifetime. That is one of the reason I believe that none should be overprotected so that they develop the healthy wings in time which can help him fly life long. The strength provided during the initial years of parenting can nourish those high flying dreams for a long time, sometimes may be for life long.      ...

  IF, my son...                       March is extremely busy time for those employed with the government for the fact that "targets" are on the head and have to managed achieve them. For the home makers, the examination of kids and preparation of Holi is dual task and the resultant non-cooperation in household chores by the "better-half".                  S o one fine day I was assigned task of making kid learn and prepare for English literature examination and this was the opportunity for me to get acquainted with some kids stuff like Shakespearean play King Lear and few poems.
